PURPOSE:To reduce the number of component parts to be mounted on a carriage, thereby reduce the size and weight of the carriage and avoid giving effects on a sliding load on the carriage, by a method wherein a slide shaft associated with a thermal head is reversingly slidden by utilizing a lever, a right side plate or the like on both sides of a reciprocating stroke of the carriage. CONSTITUTION:A pin 24 is provided at a bottom surface of a bracket 20 for adhering the thermal head 10. When the carriage 13 is moved rightward and approaches an end position of a line, the right end of the slide shaft 25 collides against the right side plate 35, and since the carriage 13 is moved rightward, the pin 24 slips off from a small diameter recessed part 25A and is engaged on the shaft 25, the thermal head 10 is returned to a separated condition, and the carriage 13 is returned to the left. |
