PURPOSE:To disturb a flow around a pipe located at the most upstream side of the air flow strongly to increase heat transmission around the pipe and improve the heat transfer capacity of the heat exchanger remarkably by arranging a cylindrical member, whose outer surface is worked so as to obtain a rough surface, at the upstream side of the air flow. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical members 5, arranged in parallel along the side rim of the upstream side of plate-like fins 1 with given spaces in the direction orthogonal to the direction of the flow of air, are worked so as to obtain rough outer surfaces in order to generate strong eddy currents at the downstream thereof. These cylindrical members 5 are arranged in zigzag with respect to the pipes 2a of first row. When the air is flowed into the arrow sign direction A, the flows are disturbed by the cylindrical members 5 at the downstream thereof and eddy currents, shown by the signs B, are generated. As a result, the flows around the pipes 2a of the first row are disturbed and the heat transfer capacities around the pipes are increased, thereby improving the capacity of the heat exchanger remarkably. Further, the outer surfaces of the cylindrical members 5 are rough surfaces, therefore, the strength of the turbulences is large and the remarkable improvement of the heat transfer capacity as the heat exchanger may be obtained. |
