PURPOSE:To facilitate the detachment and the attachment of a rubber hose with respect to a mandrel during the molding thereof, by a method wherein a rubber hose material is mounted to a mandrel made of a shape memory alloy when said mandrel shows a straight rod like shape while the whole is heated to a vulcanization temp. to be formed into a curved shape and, after cooling, said mandrel is pulled out in a straight rod like shape. CONSTITUTION:For example, a mandrel 1 is formed of a shape memory alloy (e.g., a Cu-Al-Ni alloy) stored so as to be deformed to a desired curved shape at the vulcanization temp. (120-180 deg.C) of rubber and a rubber hose material 2 is mounted to the mandrel 1 showing a staight rod like shape at the temp. lower than the vulcanizing temp. pref., at a room temp. In this state, the whole is heated to the vulcanization temp. to form the mandrel 1 into a curved shape and thereafter cooled to a room temp. to again return the mandrel 1 to the straight rod like shape. When the rubber hose 2 is pulled out from the mandrel 1, said rubber hose 2 is restored to the curved shape by bending energy applied during vulcanization molding to obtain an objective curved rubber hose. |
