Weapon system for launching projectiles such as, in particular, an individual infantry weapon, which comprises a propellent charge positioned in a container in the form of a bag or pouch which can be deployed, and a divided ballast which can be ejected compensating for the recoil impulse, the assembly providing the absorbtion of noise, this system being characterised in that it comprises two pouches or bags 12, 12' which can be deployed, the first for carrying out the launching of the projectile 10, and the second to ensure the ejection of the ballast 14, these two bags being connected by a central connecting ring 24 forming a breech, receiving, in its median section, a cartridge 32 which contains the propellent charge 34, in order that the expansion effect of this charge causes the deployment of the two bags 12, 12', in that the said cartridge 32 and the said breech 24 form the two combustion chambers of the system and in that the folding of the two bags is carried out, on the breech side 24, according to a "glove finger" pre-deployment arrangement and, towards their ends, according to a zig-zag folding arrangement. <IMAGE>
