PURPOSE:To maintain a machine tool at a predetermined temperature while improving temperature distribution of the whole spindle head by mounting a machine body temperature detector on a position spaced thermally equally from a main bearing and a refrigerant pipe path of the machine tool. CONSTITUTION:A spindle 2 of a spindle head 1 is supported by bearings 3a, 3b. Pipe paths 4a, 4b are provided around the bearings 3a, 3b in a machine body wall to form a refrigerant circuit for an evaporator of a refrigerator. Refrigerant passing through the pipe paths 4a, 4b enter inlets 5a, 5b and exit outlets 6a, 6b respectively. Machine body temperature detectors 7a, 7b such as thermistor are mounted near the bearings 3a, 3b and the pipe paths 4a, 4b to have the minimum time constant to them and spaced thermally equally from them. Here, the time constant means time taken for raising temperature by 63.2% of saturation temperature tinfinity minus a certain temperature tr in temperature rise. |
