According to the invention, the frame is characterised in that it comprises a panel 1 provided with a window 2 capable of receiving the object to be framed and constituting the front face of the frame, the peripheral edges of the said panel 1 being extended by external flaps 3, 4, 5, 6 which can be folded down by folding parallel to and behind the said panel, the folded-down parts 11, 12, 13, 14 of all of the flaps 3, 4, 5, 6 defining a rear plane parallel to and separated from the said panel 1, the space between the panel and the said rear plane being filled by at least one spacer 19 of corresponding shape and thickness which leaves clear the opening constituted by the window 2, the folded-down parts of the external flaps being held in the said rear plane while trapping the said spacer 19, means 25 being provided to render the object 26 to be framed integral with the said frame. <IMAGE>
