PURPOSE:To enable exertion of bending force on work rolls in a multi-stages rolling mill by interposing wedges between the chocks of the upper and lower work rolls and moving forward and backward the wedges by means of cylinders. CONSTITUTION:The wedges 11a, 11b interposed between chocks 5a and 5b of upper and lower work rolls 2a, 2b ar moved forward or backward respectively by the extending operation of hydraulic cylinders 10a, 10b and are inserted into the space between the chocks 5a, 5b to open the upper and lower chocks 5a, 5b in a vertical direction. The rolls 2a, 2b are thus forcibly bent to generate bending force. The rate of correcting the shape of a rolling material is set by the bending force for forcing and opening the rolls 2a, 2b to be generated when the wedges 11a, 11b are inserted between the chocks. |
