PURPOSE:To form a rigid and stable oxide film on the balancing surface of a rotating body, by treating the rotating body at a prescribed temp. for a prescribed time in a nitrogen atmosphere or in nitrogen and steam atmospheres in succession. CONSTITUTION:A rotating body after surface grinding for balancing is put in a heat treatment furnace and heated to 300-510 deg.C in a nitrogen atmosphere or in nitrogen and steam atmospheres in succession. The rotating body is held at 300-510 deg.C for 10-45min in a steam atmosphere, and it is held at 300-510 deg.C for 5-25min in a nitrogen atmosphere. A rigid and stable oxide film is formed on the balancing surface of the rotating body. |
