<p>An apparatus is disclosed for controlling the thickness of application during the coating of moving strips of material with the aid of a doctor-roll bar bearing against the coated side of the strip and mounted in a doctor-roll bed which is, in turn, attached to the frame of the machine by a mounting. The doctor-roll bed is made of a rubberlike resilient material, and a pressure chamber is provided in the doctor-roll bed.</p> |
