PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely lock a trailing edge positioning frame for positioning the trailing edge of paper against the impact force in transporting and keep a paper separating function. SOLUTION: In this paper feed tray, a recessed groove 19 is formed in the rear part of the bottom of a tray body 15, and the space between both guide edge plates 20 of the recessed groove 19 and the front edge of the recessed groove 19 is taken as a non-regulation area H, and the trailing edge positioning frame 16 is engaged with both guide edge plates 20 to be moved in the longitudinal direction. A recessed part 28 communicated with the recessed groove 19 through a communicating groove 27 is formed in the front part of the bottom of the tray body 15, a floor plate 29 pivoted to be rotatable round a supporting point 30 in the communicating groove 27 and disposed in the recessed part 28 or the non-regulation area H alternatively is provided, and a paper separation friction pad 18 is provided on the upper surface of the floor plate 29 disposed in the recessed part 28.
