<p>Each card in this chess match indexing system has the details of one game printed on it in chess notation. In addition, the edges of the card are used for a punched hole record of some of the more important details, e.g. the names of the players, location, date, winner, length of game, type of opening, main branching moves, sub-branches, sub-sub-branches, etc. A researcher can select all the games which conform to particular requirements using conventional punch card machinery, e.g. numbers of long pins, and does not need to refer to many books or charts.</p> |
