<p>Space heating apparatus comprises a housing (10), a fan (16) for propelling air to be heated through the housing, means (38, 39) for combusting a fuel/air mixture to a sufficient degree to produce heated air and non-toxic combustion products, and an outlet (14) through which the heated air and the combustion products are discharged to the space to be heated. The apparatus preferably incorporates a two-stage combustion chamber (20) comprising means (38) for igniting the fuel and air mixture and a catalytic material (39) disposed downstream of the ignition means in which any remaining combustible products are sublected to catalytic action to produce the non-toxic output.</p> |
