To prevent a strong localised expansion of sealing strips which are made from weather-resistant elastomers or plastomers and are intended for external corners of flat roofs and civil engineering buildings, the sealing strip (1) has at least two waves (7) lying opposite each other in a region located between the ends, the amplitude of which waves linearly increases from the middle axis (M) of the sealing strip towards its longitudinal edges and which have each a surface which consists of the flat base surface of the wave and of an additional sector surface. By means of the additional surface area of the waves, it is possible to apply the sealing strip (1) also in the regions of transition from the horizontal to the vertical or sloped surfaces of the external corners, without previously having to widen it at these locations. The additional sector surfaces of the waves (7) each preferably correspond to an eighth of a full circumference. <IMAGE>
