The weighing appts. with an automatic input hopper has an associated lever balance which enables automation of the distribution of the fodder according to the nourishment requirements of the animals. Accurate dispensing is achieved, ensuring that the animals do not receive too little or too much food and that manual dispensing is substantially reduced. The hopper contains a hopper body (5) connected to a beam (3,4) balance. The hopper body and beam balance are suspended on a common frame (1). The material to be weighed is received by the hopper from which it is released via a lower flap (6) which is opened automatically or manually.
