PURPOSE:To obtain spun yarns having improved uniformity and high quality without slubs, neps, loops, sags, etc. nor twists, by processing a fiber bundle of short fibers with an interlacing nozzle having a larger diameter on the outlet side than the inlet side of a path for the fiber bundle. CONSTITUTION:A sliver of short fibers alone or together with a continuous yarn is passed through an interlacing nozzle to prepare spun yarns with no twists. In the process, an interlacing nozzle 5 having the central axis of a fluid jetting nozzle 13, crossing the central axis of a path 12 for the fiber bundle, and tilted at 60-90 deg. tilting angle (theta) to the central axis of an introductory part (12a) of the fiber bundle in the path 12 for the fiber bundle, the cross-sectional area of the outlet part (12b) of the path 12 for the fiber bundle 0.4-0.7 of that of the opening part in the fluid jetting nozzle 13 in the path 12 for the fiber bundle, and the diameter of the introductory part (12a) of the fiber bundle on the upstream side of the fluid jetting nozzle 13 equal to that of the opening part in the fluid jetting nozzle 13 or larger toward the inlet side of the introductory part (12a) is used. |
