A radial shaft seal as used for sealing off rotating shafts or reciprocating rods interacts with a track ring. For transport and assembly, both parts are connected positively to one another. In the installation condition, however, this connecting body can be deformed in order to avoid influencing the action of the radial shaft sealing ring. <IMAGE>
