PURPOSE:To restore the functions of a hot stove for blast furnaces in a short time in the stage of repairing the refractory bricks in the hot stove by shielding the place to repair and a combustion chamber by means of partition plates from the outside and cooling the repairing part thereby permitting the repair without cooling the other parts. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of repairing the eroded refractories in the expansion pipe 5 in a horizontal pipe part 6 between a mixing chamber 3 and a combustion chamber 2 of an outside combustion type hot stove, the smallest possible opening part 9 is provided in the part 6, and plural partition plates 101-103 which are insulated of heat by adhering refractories thereto are inserted through the part 9. The eroded parts of the refractories are thoroughly shielded from the chamber 2 at high temp. by these plates 101-103, and while said parts are cooled with cold wind, the eroded bricks are repaired. Since the chamber 2 of the hot stove is maintained at the high temp., the operation for generation of hot wind intrinsic to the hot stove is started right after the repair of the refractory bricks, and the eroded bricks are repaired easily while the decrease in the working efficiency of the hot stove is reduced. |
