PURPOSE:To form a complete water proofing structure with a seal material by providing an air hole on the outer surface of an acceleration detector with a housing member for housing a piezoelectric element and a weight. CONSTITUTION:An O ring 10 is inserted into the joint surface between a housing member 1 and a housing member 8 and the inserted section between the housing member 1 and the housing member 8 is made waterproof. The connection between an electrode terminal 4 and an output terminal 11 is filled with a highly airtight seal material 12 for water proofing. To meet the requirement for a higher airtightness, said seal material 12 employs a resin material such as epoxy resin, for example. The housing member 8 is provided with an air hole 13, with which air thermally expanded in a housing section 9 is exhausted in the heat drying process. This achieves a proper solidification of the seal material 12 even when there is a clearance at connection between the electrode terminal 4 and an output terminal 11 thereby ensuring a complete waterproofing of the filled section of the seal material 12. The air hole 13 is sealed up completely by welding, deposition or the like of the housing member 8 in the perimeter thereof 13 for the waterproofing of the housing section 9 after the seal material 12 is dried. |
