The invention relates to a device for regulating the stitch density of a circular knitting machine for the production of hosiery articles, which is equipped with a fixed needle cylinder and axially displaceable sinker lock parts. The invention affords the possibility of adjusting the stitch density differently in the individual knitting systems, this being achieved in that the swing-out levers of the sinker lock parts are assigned at least one stencil rotatable through a specific angle and having actuation starting surfaces on which swing-out levers rest, the stencil being arranged coaxially relative to the needle cylinder of the machine.
