Geodetic measuring instrument

An electronic geodetic measuring instrument in which an alidade rotates around an axis with respect to a limb is equipped with an operating and reading device at the alidade. Within the aim of reliable and easier operation at any telescope position with little technical and economic expenditure, the object is to attach only one operating and indicating device which does not change its position with respect to ocular and objective of the telescope whereas the measurement is taken in two telescope positions. The alidade consists of two parts which are rotatably supported relative to one another about a common vertical axis. The upper part comprises the telescope, holding and adjusting elements and an opto-electronic reading system. At the lower part, an operating console with indicator is mounted. Both parts are detachably connected via a latch.
