PURPOSE:To improve voltage controlling characteristics of a thyrsitor type voltage regulator (RVR) and to hold the best value of power factor invariably by varying the capacity of a phase advance capacitor curresponding to (lagging) reactive power generated by the RVR. CONSTITUTION:The gate controlling circuit 31 of a RVR3 calculates the (lagging) reactive power that the RVR3 generates at pesent, and then turns on switching devices 44-46 to select phase advance capacitor banks 41-43 to be connected, thereby supplying corresponding (leading) reactive power. |
