PURPOSE:To achieve an effective binary coding of various objects while improving the focusing accuracy by arranging a profile emphasizing circuit, a sector limiting circuit and a compression circuit in a binary coder of analog video signals. CONSTITUTION:After passing through an amplitude compression section 20 inserted to prevent the amplitude from becoming excessive via a waveform shaping circuit 12, outputs of a sensor 6 are inputted into a profile emphasizing circuit 16 for enhancing the rising and falling sections of signals. The output of the circuit are binary coded with a comparator 8, the outputs of which are inputted into a sector limiting circuit 18 for extracting specific one from among a string of time-series signals. This always provides a binary coded signal confined to the part of signals representing the profile of an object by compression of the binary coded signals of a large amplitude thereby enabling accurate automatic focusing. |
