PURPOSE:To weld with good workability under excellent sealing of a pipe and head cover in welding a pipe to a head cover by providing a flange part at the lower end of the pipe and fixing and welding gaskets to its projected parts. CONSTITUTION:In welding a pipe 4 to a head cover 5, a flange part 4a is provided at the tip of the pipe 4, and projections 4b projecting to the head cover side 5 are formed at plural places. Gaskets 6 are attached to the projections 4b, and small holes 6a are provided to penetrate the projections 4b to the head cover side. Under this condition, welding places 7 where the projections 4b are in contact with the head cover 5 are held between electrodes and pressed. Electric resistance welding is then performed by applying current. Thus, a weld zone excellent in sealing of the pipe 4 and head cover at the weld zone is formed with good workability. |
