A cowshed cleaner has a horizontal conveying path and an elevating conveying path, connected thereto and rotatably mounted about a vertical pivot axis, for a dung slide driven by means of a traction and return rope. To facilitate the transition of the dung slide between the horizontal conveying path and the elevating conveying path, provision is made for a deflecting guide which consists of two lateral guide faces, connected to the horizontal conveying path and diverging convexly towards the elevating conveying path, and of two run-on faces of the elevating conveying path, which extend into the mouth region of said guide faces and converge convexly towards the horizontal conveying path. <IMAGE>
