<p>Apparatus for testing tires has a plullity of ultrasonic acoustic transmitters (500, 502) with associated electrical pulse generating circuits (422, 818, 820.) Repetitive pulses of ultrasonic signals are passed through a moving portion of the tire wall, each transmitter being arranged to direct signals at receivers (210) located on the opposite side of the tire (112). A display (420) is used to give a measurement of the condition of the tested tire. A multiplexer (422) is provided so that only one of the transmitters (500, 502) is activated at a given time.</p> |
