<p>PURPOSE:To realize a rough sorting of KANJI (Chinese character) patterns, by using a microdirection histogram of each black dot forming the contour of a character pattern. CONSTITUTION:A binary shift pattern of MXN is shifted to shift registers 51, 52 and 53 of a microdirection extracting device 5 by a control signal 91, and a microdirection signal 7 and a direction decision control signal 8 are delivered through a microdirection deciding circuit 54. These outputs are divided to be counted by a counter, and the result of counting is applied to a recognizer for a rough sorting of patterns. In such way, the thickness of the character line does not give so mush effect to the sorting accuracy owing to the usage of a microdirection.</p> |
