Under-water anchor stay - comprises prestressed concrete tie beam with end hinges and adjustable length rope

The underwater anchor stay sustains a permanent and variable tension load. It comprises one or more concrete tie-beams (A) with hinges (R) at both ends to avoid bending loads. The length of the tie-beams totals at least two-thirds that of the stay. A rope (C) is attached to one or both beam ends, to avoid application of a compression load to the beam during installation, and allow adjustment of the stay length. The stay can be used to secure a float between high and low water level to an anchor in the seabed, the rope being at the upper end to allow adjustment at this end.
