1,185,999. Moulding assemblies of building elements. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 5 April, 1968 [11 April, 1967], No. 16485/67. Heading B5A. A prefabricated assembly of building elements e.g. bricks or tiles, is formed by placing the elements so as to form open joints therebetween upon a layer of material comprising a gel, on the base of a mould, a bonding substance e.g. mortar, is then caused to enter the joints and the bonded prefabricated assembly and the layer are subsequently separated from each other. The gel acts to seal the face of the assembly. Suitable gels comprise a suspension or solution of a cellulosic substance in water e.g. carboxymethylcellulose or starch, or of fullers earth or bentonite in water. The layer of material may include a soft porous material e.g. felt, mineral wool, flannel, hessian, or plastics or rubber foam, which is treated e.g. by immersion or by brushing or spraying, with the gel, which material may be covered with a sheet of fabric e.g. cotton sheet, and on which the elements may be laid. Alternatively, the layer may be formed of a gel layer over which is laid e.g. a cotton sheet. |
