PURPOSE:To maintain recording head surface always in a cleaned state by setting the scanning region of a recording head layger than the width of recording paper to provide the turnback position at the scanning in the position deviated from the recording paper 1 and providing a cleaner in the turnback position. CONSTITUTION:In the apparatus of performing recording of images by reciprocating and scanning a recording head 2 in the width direction of recording paper 1 in the state where the recording head 2 and redording paper 1 are held contacted with each other and conveying the recording paper 1 in the direction orthogonal to the scanning direction, the scanning region a of the recording head 2 is set larger than the width b of the recording paper to provide the turnback position c at the scanning of the head 2 in the position deviated from the recording paper 1. Hence, the head 2 is cleaned at each one reciprocation scanning by the cleaner 16 disposed in the turnback position c, thus the dust having deposited during image scanning is removed. |
