The entrance turnstile barrier is operated by the coins which must be inserted into automatic coin-operated machines. These machines are positioned within the barrier space; they are specially adapted to these coins and issue information or other material. Between the turnstile and coin delivery and outside the reach of the turnstile there may be a light barrier which releases an electrical pulse for coin delivery only if a pulse has previously been transmitted from the turnstile.
