METHOD AND A DEVICE FOR PREVENTING LEAKAGE OF DATA STORED IN A PC BY VERIFYING AN ID OF A KEY LOCK BOARD AND A USB MEMORY

A method and a device for preventing data leakage by verifying an ID of a key lock board and a USB(Universal Serial Bus) memory are provided to prevent an illegal user from copying data by performing a booting sequence in which a preliminary security procedure is performed in advance by the key lock board installed in a slot of a motherboard. A protected USB memory(3) encodes/decodes stored data and is a single storage device capable of writing or reading the data by connecting to the outside. A user PC(2) includes a key lock board(1) installed at a slot of a motherboard, and completes a booting routine while permitting use of the protected USB memory after a hardware ID of the key lock board and the protected USB memory is verified through the Internet(10). The key lock board transmits a MAC(Media Access Control) address and a hard disk number to a main server(4) when the protected USB memory is detected, recognizes a system status of the user PC in a start-up routine, and sets a read-only mode to an external I/O(Input/Output) device by occupying all memories/basic execution commands before a file system is loaded to the memory. The main server manages the ID of the USB memory and the user PC, and the MAC address of the system.
