<p>PURPOSE:To shorten a picture appearance time by reducing the thermal capacity of a cathode cap. CONSTITUTION:Height H2 of cathode cap 6 is reduced to 0.3mm as compared with conventional 0.65. In this case, the thickness of the cap is approximate 0.15mm and its overlap width is approximate 0.15mm and small. The edge of this cap is welded to the outer circumference of sleeve 3 by laser welding, etc., to obtain an indirectly-heated cathode structure. In this constitution, the weight of the cap is reduce to approximate 3.3mg and its thermal capacity lessens, so that the picture appearance time can be shortened to a limit vaiue of approximate 6 seconds in comparison with conventional approximate 6.5 seconds.</p> |
