PURPOSE:To remove a small amount of paramagnetic substances contained in water, by adding ferromagnetic substance into the paramagnetic substance containing water, and then removing both of paramagnetic and ferromagnetic substances in water efficiently by passing the same through a magnetic separating means. CONSTITUTION:Water to be treated, containing oxides formed by corrosion, like paramagnetic substances (for instance, alpha-FeO(OH), alpha-Fe2O3), is introduced into reserving tank 2 by means of water supplying means 1. After the water is agitated in the tank 2 and mixed uniformly, it is carried to mixing means 6. On the other hand, water in which ferromagnetic substances such as Fe3O3, gamma-Fe3O3, CuO Fe2O3 are dispersed by way of agitation 8 in dispersing tank 7, is also supplied to the mixing means 6 to mix therein this water with the water to be treated. The mixture water is then introduced into magnetic separating means 11. While the mixture water passed through the means 11, paramagnetic substances formed into flocks by the complete ferromagnetic and ferromagnetic substances are removed by magnets provided in the magnetic separating means 11. After treatment in means 11, water is discharged at 14 through pipe 12 or otherwise returned to regenerating means 1, depending on the quality of water after treatment. |
