A hydraulic apparatus comprises a first and a second pump respectively supplying first and second hydraulic circuits. The second pump is arranged to be connected to the first circuit by way of a valve. The valve includes bypass means to permit the second pump to deliver fluid to the first circuit after the pressure in the second circuit reaches a predetermined level. The circuit is particularly useful where the second circuit is connected to a vehicle brake actuator and the first circuit supplies steering and auxillary apparatus.
