The adjustable-length rod supports a curtain or lamp and comprises two tubes telescoping one inside the other. An internal coil spring acts against the tubes when they are slid one inside the other for a limited distance. The coil spring (12) has a free end (14) which, when the tubes (10, 11) are telescoped, acts directly against one of them. It can be fixed to the inner tube, having a constant dia. where it extends from it. Its free end is formed by a portion (19) bent over from the last turn (18). Together the last turn and the bent-over portion can form a diametral section whose overall length is slightly greater than the internal dia. (22) of the adjacent tube (10). |
