The shuttleless loom has a device for inserting weft on either side of the loom. Gripper hooks or rods are mounted on a reticulated strip, and may move to and fro across the loom, transversely to the direction of the cloth. The gearing for the hooks is coupled with cog wheels, which co-operate with the cog-receiving reticulated strip. On known shuttleless looms, the gear drive for the hooks is derived from the loom's own drive. The loom described has hooks with precisely synchronised movement, even at high speed running, provided by a motor with a disc rotor, which is controlled by a process calculator or a microprocessor, where the hook displacements are committed to a memory.
|
