<p>In this microprocessor arrangement, the devices accommodated on a single semiconductor chip, which comprise the arithmetic and logic unit and various registers, are connected to one another and to devices not located on the semiconductor chip by means of a system of bus lines in such a manner that only a small number of terminal pins are needed for the semiconductor chip and a small number of driver circuits. The bus lines are arranged in the form of a ring and are operated in such a manner that data are only transmitted in one direction and, together with a special control, allow the overlapping sequence of operations.</p> |
