The valve for a watering bowl has a sealing ring (6) composed of an elastically flexible material which forms a valve seat (11) for the closure element (9). Integrally moulded onto the sealing ring (6) is a tubular extension (10) which forms a guide for the valve-actuating rod (8) and has axial recesses (12) for the passage of the water when the valve is open. Since the valve-actuating rod (8) is guided in a part which simultaneously forms the sealing ring and which must in any case be replaced periodically, the guide for the valve-actuating rod (8) is automatically replaced by the replacement of the sealing ring (6). This increases the service life of the valve for a drinking bowl. <IMAGE>
