Detection of breaks during mfr. of stranded wire - uses electrical measurement to ensure continuity as wire is wound on to drum

In the appts. for forming standard wires individual wires or groups of wires are fed from stationary drums and stranded. Finished cable is wound on a stationary coil by a flyer. Ends of wires on the stationary delivery drum are connected with corresponding wire ends on the other stationary drum. Voltage measurements are made on the electric circuits to ensure the continuity of the wire during stranding.
