Cake tin preventing undue browning of sides - has heat barrier layer around sides of tin formed by cavities pref. filled with asbestos wool or glass wool

The cake tin which pref. has a detachable base is provided around the inside and/or outside of the sides (2) with a heat barrier layer (4) which stops premature browning of the sides of the cake. This heat barrier layer (4) consists of at least one chamber of approximately rectangular cross-section extending in the peripheral direction of the sides and filled with asbestos or glass wool. Two chambers can be mounted radially one behind the other and least one chamber is filled with air and the other one in evacuated. Since the surface of the heat barrier layer can be the same as that of the tin the final appearance of the cake is not affected adversely.
