The mounting frame for the printed circuit boards of a communications units employs a number of profile rails (1), secured together to form the walls of the unit. Each rail (1) has a longitudinal groove (5) halfway across it allowing horizontal shielding plates (3) to be slid between each pair of facing rails (1). A circuit board (4) can be supported between the two rails (1), either side of the shilding plate (3). Pref. the shielding plate (3) is formed from a sprung metal sheet, with the bent edges of the sheet fitting into the rectangular groove (5) running along each rail (1).
