<p>Drum for electroplating and/or the chemical treatment of workpieces, esp. a large number of small pieces with low wt. The periphery of the drum has a double wall:- (a) a flexible inner wall made of a fabric mesh; (b) a rigid outer wall provided with large holes. The drum may have a circular- or a polygonal cross-section; and the walls (a, b) are pref. clamped onto the two end plates of the drum. One end plate, or both end plates, can be used for emptying and filling the drum. The drum pref. rotates on a support arm forming part of a carrier frame and used to supply electric current for plating operations. The mesh wall (a) retains very small workpieces in the drum; and the ends of the drum can rapidly be dismantled for repair or replacement of the mesh (a).</p> |
