PURPOSE:To obtain the information recording medium provided with protective layer having durability and excellent recording and reproducing characteristics by providing a 1st protective layer and 2nd protective layer which are respectively specific in this order on a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The 1st protective layer 13 which is the cured matter of a monomer and/or oligomer having polymerizable double bonds and has the Young's modulus of the value ranging 1X10<6> to 5X10<9>dyne/cm<2> is provided on the recording layer 12 which is provided on a substrate 11 and allows reading and/or writing of information by laser. The 2nd protective layer 14 which is the cured mater of the monomer and/or oligomer having the polymerizable double bonds and has the Young's modulus of >=1X10<10> dyne/cm<2> is provided thereon. The characteristics intrinsic to the recording layer 12 are maintained even after the application of the protective layers and, therefore, the recording and reproducing characteristics, such as recording sensitivity and C/N, are improved and the durability is improved as well. |
