Digital display used in diagnostic X:ray apparatus - has log. amplifier between D:A converter and window discriminator

The digital display displays the continuously-variable mAs-produce on diagnostic x-ray apparatus and also allows a character printer or an EDP unit to be connected. A servo-type A/D converter is used. A logarithmic amplifier is connected between the D/A converter and the window discriminator to compensate for the logarithmic relation between the position of the mAs setting potentiometer and the mAs value. The D/A converter has its factor of proportionally automatically linked to the decimal point changeover switch and has a large enough range to cover the extended mAs range needed for mammography.
