PURPOSE:To accurately control the toner falling from a toner control means by applying the voltage corresponding to an image signal to the toner control means using a toner supply roller as an opposed electrode. CONSTITUTION:An image signal is applied to a toner control means 20 from an image data generating means 40 using a toner supply roller 12 as an opposed electrode and it is determined whether toner preliminarily charged negatively passes through a toner passing hole 22 or accumulated on the toner control means 20. The toner passing through the toner passing hole 22 falls on the recording paper 60 placed on a base electrode 50. Since bias voltage positive with respect to the toner control means 20 is applied to the base electrode 50, the falling of the toner from the toner control means 20 is accelerated. When no image signal is applied, bias voltage having polarity reverse to that of the toner is applied to the toner control means 20 and the toner is positively held to the toner control means to be suppressed from its natural falling. |
