The wrapping sheet or bag, designed to contain a product on sale, incorporates a detectable element (2, 2A, 2B) of a magnetic material. The element can be in the form of a metal wire between two layers of paper or between an outer layer of paper (e) and an inner layer (f) of polyethylene. The magnetic element can be fixed in place by a self-adhesive material or by thermal welding into a plastic layer, and is incorporated during manufacture. It can be detected in the presence of a magnetic field or de-activated by authorised staff.
