A lid (10) comprising a rigid body (11) constituting the central portion of the lid (10) adapted to be hermetically fitted on the opening edge (21) of a container body (20), and a soft periphery (12) integrated with the periphery of the rigid body (11) and having a fitting groove (13) to fit on the opening end edge (21) of the container body (20), wherein a stepped portion (30) is formed throughout the boundary between the soft periphery (12) and the rigid body (11), and the inner side of the stepped portion (30) is integrally formed with a projecting rib (31) formed by projecting a portion of the soft periphery (12), thereby achieving cost reduction, reliable integration of the rigid body with the soft periphery, easy prevention of formation of "burrs", and improved sealability.
