PURPOSE:To lower the energy consumption of an apparatus by bringing the outer periphery of a small diameter mover having a central shaft externally of the outer periphery of a vibrator into pressure contact with a displacement extension mechanism to friction drive said mover. CONSTITUTION:In a progressive wave motor, a central shaft 101 is formed into an integral body with an anchor block 102 by driving and a vibrator part 103 forms an integral construction with said integral shaft 101 in the central part. Also, said vibrator 103 is composed of an elastic member such as stainless steel and the mechanical resonance frequency thereof is enough higher than that of the vibrator 103. Further, a piezoelectric vibrator 105 is a piezoelectric ceramic having a central hole and is joined to the side opposite to the face provided with an output takeout connection 104 of said vibrator part 103. A mover is composed of a mover wheel 106 and a mover rotating shaft 107. In this case, the output takeout position 104 of the vibrator part 103 is not at the whole periphery of said part 103 but is caused to deviate from the center so that the ratio of the radius of said vibrator part 103 to that of said mover wheel 106 is larger than 1 Thus, it is possible to increase the rotational speed of said mover. |
