A composition comprising: (a) a naturally occurring or synthetic latex; and (b) a thickening agent comprising one or more polysaccharides; wherein said thickening agent is present in an amount of between about 0.01 to about 15 parts per 100 parts of polymer in said naturally occurring or synthetic latex and wherein said polysaccharide does not solely comprise a starch or cellulose derivative.
