PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a work to extend a slave station 5 without changing any system definition of an existing portion in a monitor controller 11, which is used for various plants and buildings or factories, has a plurality of objects 12 to be controlled and detecting means 13 and connects these objects 12 and detecting means 13 to master stations U1-U4 by consolidating them by a plurality of slave stations S1-S4 connected through a transmission loop 14. SOLUTION: The transmission paths H1-H4 constituting the transmission loop 14 and interconnecting slave stations S1-S4 are supplemented with connection information *10, *20, *30 and *40 which are successively increased by every relatively large first numeric '10' as it goes from the slave station S3 being a base point to the downstream side. A transmission path H5 corresponding to the slave station S5 to be extended is set with connection information *25 obtained by adding a second numeric '5' smaller than the first numeric to the connection information *20 of the transmission path H2 of the slave station S1 as the upstream side of the slave station S5.
